Now it’s the turn of Cyprus to welcome Spain. Tonight, in the people of Nicosia and the whole of Cyprus are culturally richer. H.M The Queen of Spain Sofia has opened at the Municipal Art Center of Nicosia the most important Art exhibition that ever came from Spain to Cyprus. 200 art works of the Catalan artist Joan Miró will remain in Cyprus until the 30th of May 2010.

H.M Queen Sofia walked in the art centre where hundreds of Cypriots were waiting for her to give her a very warm welcome. She was accompanied by the President of Cyprus Mr. Christofias and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain Mr. Moratinos who knows Cyprus very well as he lived here during his mission in the Middle East under the mandate of the European Union in the nineties.

The exhibition is of unique importance since it includes 200 pieces from all the artistic creations of the artist as well as recreation of the artist’s workshop in Mallorca.

Visit Nicosia, take walk in the old city within the Medieval walks and step in the world of Miró.
